Front panel is too good to be anything but a factory job.   All yellow tuning dial is know on early sets.  Note from the vivible screws and locations of the legends that the chrome trim bars had not yet been added to the design,  Contrary to some earlier statements, this is a six-band radio.

The layout of the power-supply components is quite different.  It looks to me like they were using an electrolytic filter condenser, and changed to the larger oil-filled unit in later production.

Large holes would be right for the battery jumper and line-voltage select switch.  Were they ever there?  Not the layout lines.t
